Project Overview

Situated in the heart of Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, The Gothic is a striking Victorian building known for its distinctive red brickwork and arched Gothic-style windows. As part of a full redevelopment led by Kavannagh Construction², we were commissioned to manufacture and supply new timber sash windows on traditional cords and weights, faithfully replicating the original heritage profiles.

Our Work

Each sash window was precision-manufactured from durable Sapele hardwood, combining traditional joinery techniques with modern CNC machinery for perfect accuracy. The windows feature Gothic-shaped arched heads, preserving the building’s architectural character while delivering improved performance and longevity.

All components were factory finished in RAL 9005 Jet Black, matching the building’s bold Victorian detailing and ensuring long-term protection against the elements.

In addition to the sash windows, we also designed and manufactured the new shopfronts, completing the ground-floor elevations in a consistent, period-correct style.

Result

The completed installation retains the authentic Gothic aesthetic while benefitting from modern precision, craftsmanship, and finish quality. The new timber sash windows complement the building’s intricate brickwork, enhancing its historic character and ensuring The Gothic continues to stand out as a landmark in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
